| Mission Statement : | STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY RADIO. The Media and Public Affairs Section of the British High Commission has started work on a project aimed at developing community media in South Africa. The objective of the project is to help a number of community radio stations become more sustainable developing broadcasting and media management skills in order to attain better capacity to serve their communities. | ||

| The "Strengthening Community Radio" project will run until March 2005. The aim is to provide assistance to 10/12 stations across South Africa, raging from help with marketing and promotional material to training and, in some cases the supply of new equipment. Soshanguve Community Radio became the first major beneficiary of the "Strengthening Community Radio" project. Soshanguve is located in the North of Pretoria and has an audience of more than 104 000 listeners around Shanguve, Rosslyn, Mabopane, Mamelodi, Atteridgeville, Hamanskraal and Ga-Rankuwa.
