Evaluation / Book review.
"This booklet discusses the role of community radio stations in building participatory democracy and development in Africa - and offers ideas on how such stations can be established. It provides an understanding of the popularity of community radio, as well as the reasons why it is controversial, and perhaps threatening, from the point of view of commerical and public broadcasters." As the authors say, this book is not a training manual. However it is so concrete that it can be recommended as a first reading to anyone who plans to start a radio station, and it should be one of the most favorite booklet of any broadcaster in Africa.
