Evaluation / Book review.
This manual is the result of a pilot training programme conducted in 1998, with support of the OSF-SA. The curriculum is targeted at people managing stations that have been on air for at least one year. The following aspects of management are covered: Leadership, Managing A Team, Managing People, Managing Volunteers, Financial Management, Fund-raising, Marketing, Boards and the Governance of Radio Stations, Strategic Planning. The training methodollogy to be applied is supposed to be participatory providing opportunities for participants to share their experience and learn from each other. Because of the interactive nature of the material, the ideal group size is between 10 and 20 participants. This training package comes with facilitators' guidelines which are process notes for trainers: very concrete and well-explained materials, including detailed suggestions, activities,
timeframes, etc.
With the guidelines comes a set of notes for the participants.
All the material is available on the website of the OSF for South Africa, under the section "Publications", "Download category : Media Related Files"
