Evaluation / Book review. |
“The Africa Community Radio Manager's Book” is produced by AMARC Africa. Many people can tell community radio operators what they need to do but not exactly how they should do it. In this workbook, no one tells what or how, but it does deal with things happening in a community radio station. It proposes many useful examples, making it a friendly-reader manual. This is a Word document which can be loaded down from http://www.apc.org/english/capacity/training/community_radio.shtml The Webpage also offers many other useful training materials on community radio as well as on numerous other topics like computers, Internet, web design, telecentres, etc. (Book review from "Media Forum" 1/2003, CAMECO) Table of Content: INTRODUCTION MODEL OF SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY RADIO Chapter 1 (What Makes Community Radio Special) Chapter 2 ( Keys to Sustainability) GETTING STARTED Chapter 3 (Making The Idea A Plan of Action) THE GOVERNMENT Chapter 4 (Working With the People in The Government) THE COMMUNITY Chapter 5 (Working With the People in The Community) Chapter 6 (Doing Some Research) THE STRUCTURE Chapter 7 (Working With the People in The Station) Chapter 8 (Working With the People on The Board) THE MONEY Chapter 9 (Working With the People with The Money) Chapter 10 (Working With the People in Support Services) Chapter 11 (Managing The Money) THE TECHNOLOGY Chapter 12 (Working with Equipment) THE OPERATIONS Chapter 13 (Making It All Work) Index Appendices |
